Talk of Delhi: BJP gets Bombay High Court, Returning Officer
New Delhi: The BJP is happy with its three-seat victory in the Rajya Sabha elections in Maharashtra, but the BJP leader admits that nothing has happened as expected by the BJP leadership in the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA). The credit for the BJP's victory goes to the Bombay High Court and the Returning Officer appointed by the Election Commission who decided that the BJP would benefit. Out of six seats in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress alliance Mahavikas Aghadi has won 9 and BJP has won 6. Mahavikas Aghadi's 6 and BJP's 4 candidates were considered victorious but there was a tussle for the sixth seat. BJP's Dhananjay Mahadik has won this seat against Shiv Sena's Sanjay Pawar. Dhananjay Mahadik got 31.8 votes and Sanjay Pawar got 4.5 votes. Thus there was a difference of two and a half votes between the two.
