- Part-2

- Musk gets fuming when Eberhard doesn't list Musk's name on Tesla's list of founders

- Musk's reforms made Tesla attractive, but the company fell into a cost pit

Musk called Strobel for advice in this matter..: 'Which of these two should be kept? What is your advice?'

(Note that Tesla has five co-founders: Martin Eberhard, Tarpenning, Ian Wright, Musk and Strobel)

At first Strobel tried to avoid the question by answering roundly, 'Neither, neither, is that good.' But pushing Musk for a definitive answer, Strobel said, "Martin Eberhard is the lesser of two evils."

Following Strobel's advice, Musk let Ian Wright out of the company, but Musk's suspicions of Eberhard grew; So Musk began to pay more and more attention to the management of the Tesla company and Musk increased his own activity in Tesla.

Musk became increasingly interested in the design and engineering decisions of Tesla cars, beginning to frequently travel from Los Angeles to attend Tesla meetings.

But Elon Musk, whose name is not one who just sits and makes suggestions, if his ideas or suggestions are not implemented, he would go up in smoke, in terrible anger, he would knock everyone with that loud voice.

According to Eberhard, if he were to implement all Musk's suggestions himself, the price of Tesla would increase a lot and the deadline for putting Tesla on the market would also increase.

Therefore, Eberhard and Tarpening tried to explain this to Musk, but Musk did not budge on his suggestion.

Once, in a review meeting, Musk's face turned pale with anger, glaring at Eberhard and the other directors when some of his suggestions were not implemented...

Musk suggested that Tesla's body should be made of stronger carbon fiber rather than fiberglass composite material. Other directors were against it for fear of increasing the price of Tesla, but Musk remained firm on this issue.

Whatever suggestions Musk made and implemented all those suggestions with his aggressive influence, the Tesla car became more attractive, but the company had to suffer a lot of expenses, the company's 'cash' was used a lot. The company almost went bankrupt. Even in such difficult circumstances, not only Musk kept making suggestions to make the Tesla car more sturdy and beautiful, but even after implementing all his suggestions, Musk had to hire more staff in the company in order not to delay putting the Tesla car on the market. So put the pressure on Eberhard.

Tesla was not even put on the market yet, in that situation in May 2006, 70 employees were working in Tesla. At this stage, Tesla needed more finance from investors.

The author of this book, Walter Isaacson, is a professor at the prestigious Tulane University in America and has written biographies of great personalities like Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Henry Kissinger and Benjamin Franklin.

In this book, author Walter has done a light psychological analysis behind some of Elon Musk's slightly eccentric personality traits. Walter also elaborates at length on how it affected Musk's life, citing some incidents from Musk's childhood.

With the Tesla company running out of dollars, Musk began an exercise to find new financiers. In May, 2006, Musk received $400 million in finance from Alan Salzman's Vantagepoint Capital.

There was no problem until this deal for finance fell through to the Tesla company, but after the press release about this deal of finance was sent to be published in the newspapers, there was a big internal controversy. PR of Tesla Company The press note from the department that was prepared for publication in the newspapers was not read by Musk before the press note was sent to the newspapers. Musk's name was not mentioned in the list of founders of Tesla company in the press note that was sent to be published in the newspapers. It stated that Tesla Motors was founded by Martin Eberhard and Mark Tarpening in June 2003.

In this press note, Eberhard discreetly thanked Musk for becoming an investor in the Tesla company.

"We are proud that Musk has continued to believe in Tesla Motors. He has been participating in every round of financing in the company and has also been providing leadership in the board of directors of the company.

After the finance deal fell through in the month of May 2006, as soon as the news appeared in the newspapers like this, Musk became fuming. Musk was very upset when he was mentioned in the press as only one of the big investors in Tesla Motors. Musk is obsessed with publicity.

Musk was too 'sensitive' to take credit for any work. When someone tells him that Musk is successful because of inherited wealth, Musk's brain boils. Also, even though he has been instrumental in establishing a company, when someone says that Musk does not deserve to be called the founder of this company, Musk's anger rises.

Eberhard became a celebrity in the year 2006. During this period he was introduced in TV interviews and at conferences as the founder of Tesla. One of the advertisements said, "The first electric car is Eberhard."
