World's first 'flying taxi' approved in China, beginning of revolution

- Ehang's 'Flying Taxi' will be powered by 16 electric rotors and can fly at a maximum speed of 80 miles per hour i.e. about 145 kmph.

- Ehang's 'Flying Taxi' is still in its early stages, so it won't make a huge difference immediately, but scientists believe that this is a big step in the direction of the future transportation revolution. This 'flying taxi' will prove to be a boon to get from one place to another within minutes without getting stuck in traffic jams. Due to this, not only time will be saved but also many other benefits which cannot be imagined. A lot of damage can be avoided due to the present means of transport.

Two decades ago, those who said that 'flying taxis' would come for transportation were laughed at. Saying this seemed like bhi deewana aur sunta bhi deewana but now it has become a reality. A 'flying taxi' seen only in a science fiction is going to start in China for the first time in the world. In Guangzhou, China, a company called Ehang has received permission to operate 'flying taxis'. Ehang is a US registered company and became the first company in the world to get a license for 'Flying Taxi'.

This 'flying taxi' named EH216-S AAV made by Ehang company is actually a drone. Developed in China, this drone will run on electric batteries. This 'flying taxi' is an electric vertical take-off and landing (EVOT). Meaning, will go straight up in the air from the ground and then land directly on the ground at the destination.

This 'flying taxi' is a kind of drone so it does not require a pilot to operate it. This 'Flying Taxi' which can fly with two people can fly up to about 1500 feet above the ground. This 'flying taxi' has a capacity of carrying 600 pounds i.e. about 300 kg so it can be used as a cargo taxi instead of passengers.

Ehang's 'Flying Taxi' will be powered by 16 electric rotors and will be able to run at a maximum speed of 80 miles per hour or about 145 kilometers per hour. This 'flying taxi' can cover a distance of 18 miles i.e. about 29 kilometers at a time so it can be used to reach two points in the same city. It can be charged in just two hours, so charging is also not a hassle.

This taxi is to be operated with a centralized command, so the passenger sitting in the cabin will have to select the destination on the touch screen provided on the side. It is claimed that Ehang's 'flying taxi' will have an up-to-date backup battery, communication system, rotors, etc., so its journey will be very safe.

Ehang's 'flying taxi' is still in its early stages, so it won't make a huge difference right away, but scientists believe that this is a big step in the direction of a huge transportation revolution in the future. This 'flying taxi' will prove to be a boon to get from one place to another within minutes without getting stuck in traffic jams. Due to this, not only time will be saved but also many other benefits which cannot be imagined. A lot of damage can be avoided due to the present means of transport.

The 'Flying Taxi' runs on electric power and thus will save the environment from the harm caused by carbon emissions from the burning of petroleum products. Apart from this, there is no need to create any facilities like airport or runway for 'flying taxi' so it is also very cost effective. One can get on and off the 'flying taxi' from any flat surface. This 'flying taxi' can land at any place like a park, field, school ground, roof of a building, so there is no need to make special arrangements for its parking.

In big cities, there is heavy traffic for industrialists, businessmen, doctors etc. to go from one place to another. A distance of barely fifteen-twenty kilometers has to be covered but the traffic is such that hours pass. 'Flying taxi' is the solution to this problem as the industrialist or businessman will be able to reach his corporate house directly from his bungalow within minutes. A 'flying taxi' does not require a large space for landing, so it can be easily landed on the roof of a corporate house or bungalow.

'Flying taxi' will also prove to be a boon in medical emergencies. To get the patient to the hospital quickly, a 'flying taxi' can be taken with one person and dropped directly on the roof of the hospital. In a way, this 'flying taxi' can act as an air ambulance in urban areas. Doctors will also be able to reach the hospital quickly by using 'flying taxi'.

These are some of the advantages because the 'flying taxi' we see now is very small. This 'Flying Taxi' which can carry only two passengers or 300 kg weight is actually not called 'Flying Taxi' but 'Flying Auto' so it may not make much difference but in future the size of this 'Flying Taxi' will increase and new changes will be made in it. It is impossible to imagine what a big revolution will happen when it happens.

In the early years after the invention of the airplane, the airplanes that were built did not have many facilities. Aircraft that could carry very few people or carry very little cargo were built in the early years. What is the current situation is in front of the eyes. Now tiny planes are a thing of the past. Jumbo jets are the era of super sonic planes. In the blink of an eye, planes are flying past. You can reach from one country to another country within hours by taking three hundred to four hundred people at a time.

So is the future of 'flying taxi'. The 'flying taxi' which is made to cover a distance of just 30 kilometers at present will cover 300 kilometers in the future and then 30 thousand kilometers too. The 'flying taxi' buses that currently carry two passengers will also be able to carry a tourist.

The rules regarding 'flying taxi' do not exist and five years will pass after all this happens, so after five years the talk of 'flying taxi' will start. All the countries of the world can afford this 'flying taxi', but India is definitely a country that can afford 'flying taxi', there is no doubt that 'flying taxi' will be running in India in the future as well.

Madras, IIT in India also created 'Flying Taxi'

China will be the first country in the world to run 'flying taxi' but India is not far behind. Even in India, 'flying taxi' continues to happen. India's first 'flying taxi' prototype was put on display in February this year by a start-up at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Chennai.

This start-up called Eplane Company, formed in 2017, has also created an electric vehicle take-off and landing (EVOT) flying taxi like the Chinese company. The company claims that their flying taxi is faster than a helicopter. Eplane Company has raised a fund of 1 crore dollars for Electric Vertical Take-off and Landing (EVOT) flying car.

China's flying taxi is more advanced considering that it is claimed that this flying taxi can cover a distance of 15 kilometers by charging the battery once.

'Flying Taxi' was approved after 40 thousand test flights

Ehang company started the test flight of this 'flying taxi' from 2014. After conducting more than 40 thousand test flights of 'Flying Taxi' in the last 9 years, the certificate that 'Flying Taxi' is suitable for carrying passengers has been given. About 500 different criteria were checked before giving this certificate. After meeting all these criteria, the 'Flying Taxi' has been approved. It has taken more than 1000 days to process the application for approval.

EHang's competition was with the 'Flying Taxi' of Israel's National Air Drone Initiative. This 'flying taxi' was launched in Israel last month but is currently only for medical purposes and has not received an official license.
