Talking about Delhi: BJP surrenders to Yeddyurappa again in Karnataka
New Delhi: In Karnataka, BJP has shocked everyone by making BY Vijayendar, son of former Chief Minister Yeddyurappa, as the state president. In the wake of BJP's crushing defeat in the Karnataka assembly elections, the ouster of state president Naveen Kumar Katil was considered certain, but no one expected that Vijayendra would be handed over the reins. Most of the people believed that National Organization General Minister B.L. Santosh was to be sent to Karnataka to re-seat the BJP but instead the BJP chose first-time MLA Vijayendra.
BJP leaders believe that the choice of Vijayendra is proof that the BJP has no other option in Karnataka but to surrender to Yeddyurappa. Yeddyurappa's entire family is mired in corruption and BJP will also be accused of nepotism due to the selection of Vijayendra. Despite this, BJP's selection of Vijayendra shows that the high command feels that only Yedi can restore BJP's seat in Karnataka.
Priyanka's special acharya termed Congress as anti-Ram
Priyanka Gandhi's special favorite Acharya Pramod Krishna has lost his name in the list of star campaigners of Congress in Madhya Pradesh. Acharya has quipped that some leaders in the Congress hate not only the Ram Mandir but the name of Lord Ram and these people do not want any Hindu Guru in the Congress. They probably don't need the votes of Hindus. It may happen that they see something lacking in the aim of making a Hindu priest a star preacher.
The Congress leader believes that Acharya did not name anyone but he was referring to Digvijay Singh. Acharya is believed to have made this criticism in the context of Digvijay's constant pro-Muslim statements.
Congress sources say that Acharya is also speaking the language of BJP leaders. Given that Acharya Ginnai Gaya was not given importance as a star preacher, the question is how much to trust him.

Amin Khan is contesting from Shiv assembly seat in Barmer district. There was a lot of pressure to cut off the ticket of 84-year-old Amin Khan, who had won five times in a row, and give the ticket to Barmer District Congress President Fateh Khan, but Amin Khan managed to get the ticket by persuading the Congress High Command. Displeased with this, Fateh Khan has filed an independent candidature. Another Congress leader Ravindra Singh Bhati is also in the fray. Amin has appealed to the independents not to vote for these two independents, but the BJP cut the matter and started campaigning vigorously that Amin Khan is asking them to vote for the BJP and not the Congress.
High command upset with Adhir's anti-Mamata statement
In West Bengal, the Congress high command is upset as Adhir Ranjan Choudhary once again fronted against Mamata Banerjee. Chaudhary said that, why is Mamata Banerjee silent despite Modi holding meetings in the assembly and attacking the anti-BJP front to defeat the Congress in the assembly elections of five states? Why is Mamata not speaking against BJP? Chaudhary also urged Mamata to appeal to voters to vote for the Congress.
Trinamool has expressed displeasure with Adhir's statement. Trinamool says that while there is strength to defeat BJP in Bengal, instead of strengthening Trinamool, Congress leaders are making anti-Mamata statements at the behest of CPM and other parties.
Congress leaders are also slamming Chaudhary's statement. He says that Mamata is nowhere in the picture in the assembly elections, there is no point in making statements against her when the Trinamool has no influence in these states.

What was Gandhiji's advice about celebrating Diwali?
Independent India celebrated its first Diwali exactly 76 years ago on November 12, 1947. The father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, in his message to India and Pakistan on the occasion of Diwali in 1947, tried to heal the wounded conscience of the nation with the balm of spirituality. Gandhiji, a staunch follower of Lord Ram, took inspiration from Ramayana and requested people to find Rama or Sarap in their hearts to celebrate the festival of Diwali. Gandhiji said to call back the people of the minority castes who fled in fear after the partition, otherwise the Diwali celebrations will not retain the essence, he added.
