The Patna meeting for opposition unity does not seem to have reached any particular conclusion. Now all eyes are on the second seat. In the meeting held last week, some people had raised their mouths, while some did not seem to be very interested in the discussion of the meeting. Aam Aadmi Party boss Arvind Kejriwal had soured the mood of the opposition leaders since the day before the meeting. Kejriwal's allies were saying that the Congress should also support the Aam Aadmi Party's opposition to the central government's Delhi Civil Service Ordinance. If the Congress does not support us, we will boycott the Patna meeting. Even before the meeting, every opposition party was annoyed by the talk of Aam Aadmi Party.

Congress leaders are very mature and experienced. Instead of responding immediately, Kejriwal postponed the opposition to the ordinance. The Congress did not mention Magh's name in the case of opposition to the Ordinance until the meeting at Patna was over. The atmosphere in the meeting was tense. Congress is the only party which has a nationwide network of workers. Congress can also lead but Congress has not taken any initiative to accept leadership. Other oppositions have no network or identity in the country. Two Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have the potential to lead the campaign. Congress has the highest number of seats among the opposition parties in the current Lok Sabha.

Other oppositions want to take part in the government by holding the hand of Congress. Congress knows that opposition alliance is not possible without them. Thus opposition unity is not very easy. Every opposition is more interested in getting a ministerial post in the central government than defeating the BJP. The meeting will now be held in Simla next month. Arvind Kejriwal had immediately said that if the Congress does not support me on the ordinance issue, I will not be present in Shimla.

In short there are many differences between the opposition. Even if this union reaches Kashi, there will be many gaps in it.
