Ultimatum of Akal Takht, terrorism will flare up in Punjab?

- Although Akal Takht has said that we will not do violence, but looking at the history of Akal Takht, Bhagwant Maan knows very well what this threat means. When the demand for Khalistan gained momentum in the 1970s, the Akal Takht used to advise Sufiani to behave peacefully, but through the back door he helped the militants. In fact, in 1983, due to a decision taken by the Akal Takht, terrorism flared up in Punjab.

To suppress the Khalistanists who are raising their heads in Punjab, the Punjab Police has conducted an operation and put a number of Khalistanists in jail. Akal Takht has come into the fray where the Khalistanists are on the run with Sardar Amritpal Singh and the Punjab Police is pulling out all the stops to catch him. The Akal Takht is considered the highest religious institution in the Sikh sect. The Akal Takht has given an ultimatum to the Bhagwant Mann government to release all the jailed people within 24 hours.

Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Harpreet Singh criticized the decision to impose the National Security Act (NSA) on the supporters of Amritpal Singh, saying that millions of people in this country are demanding a Hindu nation. If NSA is being imposed for the demand of separate Khalistan for Sikhs and for supporting Amritpal Singh, these millions of Hindus should also be jailed and NSA should be imposed against them as well.

Harpreet Singh has demanded that the news channels are defaming the Sikhs and put them in jail. Alleging that a conspiracy to defame Sikhs has been implemented by investigative agencies and news channels, Harpreet questioned, "Are we terrorists?"

Harpreet Singh has also claimed that if the Sikhs are not released, the Sikhs will not resort to violence but will respond strategically. According to Harpreet, on the one hand, the High Court will be approached to release those who have been arrested, and on the other hand, how the Sikhs are being treated will be exposed to the whole world by raising this issue at the global level.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Ma, who has been let down by the threat of Akal Takht, has started swallowing. Mann has claimed that he has already given instructions to release those who are not involved in anti-national activities but strict action will be taken against those who try to disturb the peace. According to the Punjab Police, out of a total of 353 people who were detained, 197 people have already been released.

Many have been surprised that Mann, who had the courage to launch an operation to imprison Amritpal Singh, got off the hook, but given the history of the Akal Takht, it is natural for Mann to be afraid. Akal Takht may have said that we will not do violence, but given the history of Akal Takht, Maan knows very well what this threat means.

Even when the demand for Khalistan gained momentum in the 1970s, the Akal Takht used to give Sufiani advice to behave peacefully but through the back door it helped the terrorists. In fact, due to a decision taken by the Akal Takht in 1983, terrorism flared up in Punjab.

At that time, the demand for Khalistan became stronger in Punjab and Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale emerged as an aggressive leader of the Sikhs. Bhindranwale started running a parallel government in Punjab. He filled the court and used to settle cases and do justice. At the same time, those who raised their voice against the demand of Khalistan were settled with his gesture. Bhindranwale freed the Sikhs from addictions including alcohol and drugs by traveling from village to village through Amrit Prachar Abhiyan. Even though he freed the Sikhs from other evils, he was very aggressive in the matter of Khalistan, so he started terrorism by taking arms in the hands of the Sikh youth.

Before Bhindranwal was the favorite of the Congress because it was Indira Gandhi who raised him to break the dominance of the Akali Dal in Punjab. After becoming the strongman, Bhindranwale, against whom Indira raised him, merged with the Akali Dal in August 1982 and formed the Dharma War Front.

Bhindranwale was on the run as both the Punjab Police and the Army went after Bhindranwale.

Bhindranwale's condition worsened as the police-army were about to attack at any time. After fleeing for a year, the breathless Bhindranwale surrendered to the Akal Takht. Akali Dal President Harcharan Singh Longowal and Akal Takht Jathedar Kirpal Singh have invited Bhindranwale to stay in the Golden Temple.

Bhindranwale moved to Akal Takht after a few days and started running an empire of terror from there. Bhindranwale became intransigent and finally Indira Gandhi had to send the army to the Golden Temple and Akal Takht to wipe out the terrorists. Due to this, the religious sentiment of the Sikhs was tainted and terrorism flared up. Indira paid the price by giving her life, but thousands of other innocent people perished in the flames of terrorism.

If the Akal Takht had not allowed Bhindranwale to enter, there would have been no need to send an army to the Golden Temple. It is an exaggeration to say that terrorism would not have erupted in Punjab, but it would not have taken a horrific form. Akal Takht seems to be going the same way now.

The strength of Akal Takht is tremendous. Akal Takht is supreme for all those who believe in Khalsa i.e. Sikhism. The Jathedar of Akal Takht is considered to be the spokesperson of Sikhs all over the world. This is why Sikhs all over the world take Akal Takht seriously. The threat of Akal Takht must be taken seriously as if the Akal Takht takes an aggressive stance it will have an impact on the peace of Punjab and the country.

However, do not bow down to this threat because the fear is not that the doshi will die but that the house will be destroyed. Accept this demand of Akal Takht, it will make new demands and give open support to Khalistanists. Due to this, the threat to the unity, integrity and security of the country will increase. To avoid this danger, the honorable government should cool down the Akal Takht by any means, price, fine, difference.

Difference between demand of Hindu nation and Khalistan

It is ridiculous that Harpreet Singh has demanded to jail those who want to declare India a Hindu nation. There is a big difference between those who demand that India should be declared a Hindu nation and those who demand a separate Khalistan. Most of the Khalistanists are demanding a separate nation for the Sikhs. He has also announced the map of how Khalistan can be created by including Punjab and some surrounding areas. Dividing the country into pieces is called treason, so the demand for a separate Khalistan is treason.

Hindus are not demanding to divide the country and create a separate nation. Their demand is to declare India as a Hindu nation. India is now a secular nation. Instead, they demand to create a Hindu nation. A section of Khalistanists also demands not to divide the country but to create a separate autonomous state for the Sikhs in India itself.

They demand that the state of Khalistan, which runs according to the principles of the Sikh sect, should be a part of India. This demand is also not reasonable but there is no talk of dividing the country so they are not considered dangerous for the country but those who demand a separate nation are dangerous.

Jathedar of terrorist Akal Takht jailed in Tihar

The influence of Khalistanists on Akal Takht is strong as its Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara is a notorious terrorist. Howrah is lodged in Tihar Jail in the case of conspiracy to kill former Chief Minister of Punjab Biyantsinh. Hawara, a member of banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa, was declared Jathdar of Akal Takht by Sarabat Khalsa while he was in jail. The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Samiti (SGPC), which manages gurdwaras around the world, has appointed Harpreet Singh as its separate Jathedar. At present the ultimatum is given by Harpreet Singh but the Hawara-backed Akal Takht is in support of Amritpal. If the outrage among the Sikhs increases, the two Akal Takhts may merge, so the threat to the Akal Takht is considered serious.
