America pats Pakistan on the back as India leans towards Russia

- Pakistan was able to get out of the infamous gray list, with relief from the US indirect aid.

- If FATF had blacklisted Pakistan, no country or terrorist organization in the world would have helped a single penny. For Pakistan, it would be like an extra month in drought. Due to this, Pakistan was trying to get out of the 'grey list' for a long time. This venture has paid off and Pakistan has got relief.

Finally, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which works to stop financial aid to terrorism in the world, has left Pakistan out of the 'grey list'. Pakistan has been struggling to get out of the 'grey list' for a long time. On the other hand, countries including India and Afghanistan were trying to put Pakistan in the 'black list'. Pakistan has failed in these efforts and has been removed from the 'grey list' after a long time. FATF asked Pakistan to take 27 steps on the issue of supporting terrorism. It is not known whether Pakistan has actually taken those steps or not but Pakistan has succeeded in giving FATF the impression that these steps have been taken.

While this is a big relief news for Pakistan, it is a matter of concern for India. Pakistan is now under siege from all sides and every country is trying to get financial assistance. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has sanctioned aid subject to certain conditions to revive Pakistan's economy, but as Pakistan is unable to meet those conditions, the IMF is not sending further installments.

Due to this, Pakistan is in a lot of trouble. In such a situation, if FATF had blacklisted Pakistan, then no country or economic organization of the world would help a single penny. For Pakistan, it would be like an extra month in drought. Due to this, Pakistan was trying to get out of the 'grey list' for a long time. This venture has paid off and Pakistan has got relief.

This news is not good for India as Pakistan spreads terrorism in India. Most of the incidents of terrorism in India are perpetrated by Pakistan-inspired terrorists. If Pakistan is blacklisted, the flow of money from outside Pakistan will stop. If the Pakistan government itself does not have money, it cannot help the terrorists, so the terrorists automatically get loose due to lack of money. India's wish did not come true and Pakistan was spared. A huge blow has been avoided by Pakistan. Due to being blacklisted, the condition of rich Iran due to crude oil earnings has worsened, then one can only imagine what will happen to Pakistan.

Let's say that Pakistan has been hit by Corona. According to the rule, the country which is in the gray list for 15 consecutive months is blacklisted. Pakistan was in the gray list for a longer time than that, so it was destined to be blacklisted, but Corona came and the economic condition of the world worsened, so it got relief every three months.

If Pakistan gets blacklisted, financial institutions such as World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank etc. will block its name. Due to the European Union also stopping all trade, formal hurdles have to be cut. There will be a situation where you can go around the world with a cup but no one begs.

Due to economic depression, internal strife would also have erupted in Pakistan. Pakistan has trained thousands of terrorists to trouble India and Afghanistan. These terrorists do nothing but spread violence. Without the help of the Pakistan government, the freed terrorists would have gone on a rampage in Pakistan. There would have been anarchy and chaos in Pakistan.

This sequence of events has proved again that America is a double-dhooter. This trend has proven once again that America's chewing and showing are different and cannot be trusted at all. US President Joe Biden announced a few days ago that Pakistan is the most dangerous country in the world. Biden claimed that Pakistan has nuclear weapons but the influence of terrorism is such that there is a danger of nuclear weapons falling into the hands of terrorists at any time. Biden also mentioned that terrorism is nurtured by Pakistan. Due to this, an impression was created that America is very upset with Pakistan.

Not even a fortnight after Biden's statement, the FATF removed Pakistan from the gray list. Pakistan's withdrawal from the gray list means that Pakistan has taken necessary steps to stop supporting terrorism. In a way, this is a clean cheat on Pakistan's nexus with terrorists. Organizations including FATF operate at the behest of America. America acts as it decides. If we take Biden's statement seriously, it seems that America will blacklist Pakistan. Instead of this, America has given open ground to Pakistan.

America's attitude is strongly anti-India because India tried hard to get Pakistan blacklisted but India did not succeed. Instead of standing by India, America has indirectly helped Pakistan because India is learning from Russia.

Indirectly, America has signaled to India that if relations with Russia are strengthened, we will have to lean towards Pakistan.

Of course, India's own interests are more important. India has more advantage in relations with Russia so India should strengthen relations with Russia. If America only looks after its own interest and compromises on issues like terrorism, it is right that India also looks after its own interest.

Seven wealthy countries of the world formed the FATF

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) was formed at the behest of America to stop the financial support given to terrorism in the world. The main objective of this organization was to break the business of laundering black money through illegal activities.

The threat of terrorism increased and the issue of terror funding was added after businesses including drugs were linked to terrorism. At present, FATF's main task is to monitor terror funding. Currently 37 countries including India are members of FATF. The European Commission and the Gulf Cooperation Council are two organizations that are also members of it.

This organization was created in 1989 by the G-7 which consists of the world's seven richest countries US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan. In addition to the seven countries of G-7, nine other countries together made a total of 16 countries as its founding members. The headquarters of FATF was Paris. 40 norms were announced to stop the business of laundering black money i.e. money laundering. Violators were prosecuted.

Terrorism financing was also added in 2001 after it was realized that money laundering business is used to support terrorism. This organization works to isolate countries that do not cooperate in stopping terrorism and prevent them from receiving financial aid from anywhere in the world.

Now North Korea and Iran blacklisted

After blacklisting the country as a sponsor of terrorism by FATF, no global financial institution or country is providing financial support to it. Currently North Korea and Iran are two countries blacklisted.

FATF graylists countries whose record is questionable and who are accused by other countries of financing terrorism. Apart from India, other countries including Afghanistan accused Pakistan of supporting terrorism. Due to this, Pakistan was placed in the gray list. Currently 20 countries are in the gray list.

If a country remains in the gray list for 15 consecutive months but does not comply with the norms of FATF, it is put in the black list. After placing Pakistan on the gray list, there were repeated warnings to stop aid to terrorism. However, as Pakistan improved, it was placed on the Enhanced Back List. After that, due to some steps taken by Pakistan, it was again placed in the gray list and now it has been removed from the gray list as well.
