Delhi talk: Surprised as ED interrogates BJP leader

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has come as a surprise when it interrogated Punjab BJP vice-president Arvind Khanna in a money laundering case. Amidst allegations that ED is targeting opposition leaders at the behest of BJP, there is a debate as to why ED laid hands on the BJP leader. There is a case of bribery of 580 million dollars in arms deal against Khanna.

Khanna has been a two-time MLA and left the Congress to join the BJP two years ago. The Congress claims that Khanna is planning to return to the Congress before the Lok Sabha elections, so the ED has been employed to intimidate him.

The case against Khanna is from 2009. Khanna's father Vipin Khanna was an accused in the case. The proceedings were stopped as Khanna chose to ditch the Congress and join the BJP as the Khanna family became enraged. After the death of his father, the case was closed.

Soren performed 'Khas Pooja' in the forest to avoid EDI

Amid rumors that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had fled following the ED's summons, Soren reappeared in the capital Ranchi and these rumors ended, but the question of where Soren was for two days is under discussion. Sources say that Soren went to his tribal tribe to do a special pooja to avoid Edi's eclipse. The BJP claimed that Soren's phone has been switched off for the last two days. ED officials went to Hemant Soren's residence in Delhi for questioning, but BJP claimed that Soren had fled.

Hemant Soren held a meeting with MLAs and senior leaders of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in Ranchi. Sources claim that if Soren resigns in this meeting, his wife Kalpana Soren was considered as Chief Minister.

In Rajasthan, 40 officers are completely redundant

There are not many days left for two months of Bhajanlal Sharma's coronation in Rajasthan, but since 55 departments are without officers, the government's performance is being questioned. The Sharma government is yet to appoint a new state police chief, the IG of the Anti-Corruption Bureau or an advocate general. About 40 officers of Rajasthan Administrative Service have no work. He is being kept on free salary by the government without posting while 40 officials including Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant have been given additional charge.

Bhajanlal Sharma cannot make any appointment or transfer until he gets the green signal from Delhi, so Popabai's rule is going on in Rajasthan.

Abhishek's front against old Trinamool jogis

Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee has once again taken a stand against the Trinamool Congress' old jogis. Abhishek advocated setting a retirement age in politics, saying that working capacity and productivity decrease with increasing age, so I stick to my earlier point of setting a retirement age for politicians as well.

When Banerjee spoke this earlier, the old Jogis of Trinamool were mocked. To placate them, Mamata had to clarify that she had no plans to sideline the old Jogis from the Trinamool. Mamata also ordered not to discuss internal party differences or issues in public. It is indicative that Abhishek has repeated his statement despite this. According to Trinamool sources, Abhishek wants to see off the old Jogis during Mamata's lifetime to avoid conflicts in the future.

Go to 'India' for Rajya Sabha seat in Bihar

As soon as the election dates for the six Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar are announced, the India Front parties are in a frenzy. Out of the six Rajya Sabha seats to be elected, one seat will fall vacant due to the retirement of Congress state president Awadhesh Singh. Tension has started between the Congress and the Left parties for this seat.

Awadhesh reached the Rajya Sabha with the support of RJD in the last election but this time the CPI-ML wants to send its general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya to the Rajya Sabha from Bihar. Congress has 19 MLAs in Bihar Assembly, so Congress cannot send anyone to Rajya Sabha on its own strength. Since CPIML has 15 MLAs with 12 of its own and 3 of the other two left parties, Bhattacharya also has to seek the help of RJD if he wants to go to the Rajya Sabha. Sources claim that the Congress will hang on as Tejaswi and Lalu are in favor of giving a chance to the Left parties.

In Chandigarh, BJP won the mayoralty through diplomacy

BJP's Manoj Sonkar's victory in the Chandigarh mayoral election, which has become a prestige issue for both BJP and AAP-Congress, has created controversy. Aam Aadmi Party has 13 votes and Congress has 7 votes. Kuldeep Tita received all these votes and got more votes than Sonkar, but Sonkar was declared the winner by disqualifying 8 of the 20 votes that Kumar got. No reason was immediately given as to why the votes were disqualified. Aam Aadmi Party has announced to go to court on this issue. The issue of BJP fielding a candidate despite AAP-Congress having more members has become debatable.
