Autocracy responsible for the Big Bang.. .

- Part-1

- Negligence despite the fact that a number of flaws remain in the design of the RBMK reactor

- An autocratic ruler keeps people in the dark with important information in the name of state secrets.

It has been almost 1 year and 10 months since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, but the end of the war is still not in sight.

But at the time of the nuclear disaster, different provinces of Russia were part of the Soviet Union; means to say; At that time Ukraine was not a separate country but a region or province of the USSR i.e. Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

The state-of-the-art Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine at the time was the glory of Russia; But on April 26, 1986, at 1.23 in the morning, an accident occurred during a safety test in Reactor No. 4 of this Atomic Energy Station. A massive fire broke out in the nuclear facility with a huge explosion and the heavy slab above Reactor No. 4 collapsed with a bang.

Officially, 31 people died in the accident, but the UN report put the death toll at 50.

Even though only 31 people were killed in the reactor no. 4 explosion, apparently the number of deaths was not high, but no study was done on how and to what extent the radioactive materials that spread to the surrounding areas due to the accident in the nuclear power plant caused damage to people's health. If so, no details of what was found in the study have come out.

In a communist autocratic country, the society is made very closed. Rulers have tight control over the sharing of information. The ruler who holds all the power firmly in his hands is ruling in his own arbitrary way keeping the public ignorant of many important matters under the pretext of "state secret". But due to the sin of such dictatorial rulers, the country and the people of the country suffer a huge loss.

The anti-public attitude of the autocrat to hide important information was responsible for the disaster of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, but before talking about it, let's look at the details of the previous accidents at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

On August 1, 1977, Reactor No. 1 of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant became operational. As soon as the production of nuclear power started from the first nuclear power plant of the Republic of Ukraine, the young engineers of the plant were very excited.

About two months later, on September 27, the plant's engineers, designers, and scientists celebrated the night with a grand party, chanting slogans of "Today, today nuclear power flows from the reactor."

But within a short time this happiness of the plant operators evaporated..! The thing was that operating a heavy type reactor was very difficult.

The nuclear reactor designed by Russian scientists was given the acronym IMSN, which means in English - high power channel reactor.

Even the senior engineers in control of the reactor were suffocated by this fat reactor operator; Engineers were getting tired not only mentally but also physically.

Engineers had to make dozens of adjustments every minute to operate Chernobyl's number-one reactor, and because they had to be constantly on their feet, senior reactor control engineers sweated their way through their duty hours, just as the diggers did. Always used to sweat...!

The reactor operators had to repeatedly turn the control panel switches on and off. The control panel switches were switched on and off several times during their daily shift, and the panel switches had to be reset every two to three days.

Once a former officer of a nuclear submarine came to the control room of reactor-one of Chernobyl. Reactor-One was of a very bulky size but the equipment to operate this reactor was of the type that belonged to Baba Adam's time. Seeing this, the officer of the nuclear submarine was shocked. He asked the operator that you really control this huge reactor?

When Reactor Number One was shut down for maintenance a few months after it was turned on, operators discovered a number of flaws in the plumbing of the reactor's cooling coil, several kilometers long. The water vapor cooling pipeline was cut. The zirconium steel joints of the fuel channels were loose and the most terrible flaw in the design of the reactor was that the designers had no idea of making any safety system to protect the reactor in case the water supply to the reactor was suddenly interrupted for some reason..!

During the shutdown of Reactor Number-One, the operators realized this huge designer mistake, so Chernobyl engineers immediately built a safety system themselves.

In the meantime, the designers who designed the reactor in the capital city of Moscow themselves began to see many other mistakes left in their designs.

A large nuclear technology and engineering research and development center was established in the capital Moscow in 1952, known as Shannai. This center was established with the objective of research in the field of atomic energy.
