Gradual deployment of monsoons.

By the time the Ashadha month reaches its midpoint and before the start of Shravan, Megharaja, the king of kings, has given a slight twist to the season, infusing new hopes. Due to this, enthusiasm has increased in the public life of Gujarat. The course of the monsoon this time has been mysterious from the beginning. Rain falls in varying amounts throughout Gujarat. Those days are not now when there is uniform rain all over the world. Even in the village of Khoba Jevda, it is the experience of everyone that it rains somewhere and sometimes it does not. Biporjoy has changed the whole design of monsoon Gujarat this year. Its effect is still there. Some coastal areas of Jafarabad, which were happy with the good rain that time, have yet to receive another rain after that.

The geographical position of South Gujarat has more love for nature. This year also the monsoon crop in the state will be better there. Another reason is that the farmers of South Gujarat have continued to grow horticultural crops. Because of that, the land has been disturbed. In summer, where the fields are completely open, the water table keeps getting deeper. In Saurashtra there is no designation of horticultural crops in regions other than Talala Gir. The sadness of Gujarat's farmers towards alternative farming is well known. There is also carelessness in intercrops. Gujarat has not benefited from Kerala monsoon for the last five-six years. This time it was not known whether the south monsoon came or not. Kerala Monsoon is now just opening news.

Once upon a time, masses of clouds like a huge army of elephants would come up from the southern coast and after soaking the entire coastal region of Maharashtra, it would rain heavily in Gujarat and even if that gap was not empty, it would rain on Rajasthan and Pakistan as well. Now, those clouds disappear a little further from Kerala. There are lakhs of check dams in Gujarat. A check dam is full now, but within a few days it is empty as the soil absorbs the water. A check dam is useful only if there is enough rainfall to sustain that water. The situation in cities is different. Several societies have their own water bores. Now there should be open fields near the settlements for water to flow into the bottom of this bore.

It is called a command plot for the bore, but now every city has got one after another adobe societies and flat premises, so all the underground ways to get water to the bore have been blocked. So, if there is good rain, the water flows from above and the bore remains empty. These are the reasons for the expansion of water tanker business in Gujarat. The rain that is pouring down today will continue for a few more days. At present, the sky of Gujarat is benefiting from the light pressure of the Bay of Bengal air which has consolidated the clouds which are covered by the wind current over the western India. Usually two-three such rounds are still expected to come from the Bay of Bengal, but this time there is a partial effect of El Nino.

The real basis of this monsoon is now on the next round of rains. However, the list of twenty-one talukas of Gujarat where there was a shortage situation has now become shorter. It has saved the government crores of rupees. However, this is not the time to estimate the actual end of the monsoon. Apart from the Kerala monsoon, the Bay of Bengal, another support of the Gujarat fault line is the returning southwesterly seasonal winds. That wind slows down as compared to previous years, that's why the heavy rains in Northeast India, the 'parts' of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat also fall nearby and our fields are left waiting. This change is dangerous and the government needs to understand it. In its last budget, the central government has said that as many irrigation projects as are incomplete in the country will be completed quickly.

Because if the income of the farmers is double, but even if it is to be maintained single, then the irrigation schemes will have to be completed immediately, because if seventy percent of the farmers do not get the benefit of irrigation, the income of the farmers will not increase. Due to the current irregular monsoons, the government has to complete the incomplete irrigation projects.
