Talk of Delhi: Struggle between SP-Congress for 3 seats

New Delhi: After Akhilesh Yadav gave an ultimatum to the Congress, the Congress has started discussions with the Samajwadi Party regarding the allocation of seats, but the issue of three seats, Bijnor, Ballia and Moradabad, is going on. Congress has demanded to allocate these three seats to itself but SP is not ready to give up these seats.

Samajwadi Party leaders believe that the Congress is dragging the talk as it talks about an alliance with the BSP. The calculation of Congress is that, if the agreement of seats with BSP is finalized, Akhilesh will be left in the sun. The leaders of the SP say that when Akhilesh expressed his readiness to give 17 seats to the Congress, the Congress said yes. Congress had also approved the name of 17 seats given by Akhilesh, but now Congress has raised a new stand of three seats. Akhilesh Yadav did not join Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra in Amethi due to Congress' stance.

Controversy over Governor keeping women in Raj Bhavan

Governor of West Bengal C.V. Anand Bose has created a new controversy by arranging accommodation in Raj Bhavan for women victims of Sandeshkhali. The Governor has allotted three rooms in the Raj Bhavan for the rape and sexual abuse victims of Sandeshkhali who cannot afford to stay there. Women who cannot stay in Sandeshkhali can come and stay in these rooms.

Sources in the Raj Bhavan say that when the Governor went to Sandeshkhali, the victimized women submitted that they wanted to leave Sandeshkhali. To help them, the Governor has set up a Peace Home in the Raj Bhavan where accommodation and food and drink are provided free of cost. Women workers have also been deployed to help these women.

The Trinamool Congress says that the Governor is making the Raj Bhavan a place of politics. A leader even quipped that why Peace Home was not opened when women were raped and paraded naked in public.

Rebellion in Jharkhand Congress, Soren government in crisis

Disgruntled Congress MLAs in Jharkhand who are not getting ministerial posts are in a revolt mood. Due to this, a crisis has arisen on the Champaign Soren government. BJP has also become active to take advantage of the situation.

Congress has 17 MLAs in Jharkhand Assembly. Among these, 12 MLAs of Congress have been outraged by making four MLAs who were ministers in the Hemant Soren government again as ministers. Four MLAs who are ministers in the Champai Soren government and all the MLAs except Pradeep Yadav have decided to hold a meeting at a hotel in Ranchi and make a presentation before the High Command, 8 MLAs have reached Delhi.

JMM leaders including Champai Soren were shocked after hearing the news that 8 Congress MLAs had a meeting in the hotel. Champai immediately sent Deputy Chief Minister and Hemant Soren's brother Basankat Soren to a hotel in Ranchi. Basant tried to convince the Congress MLAs. The MLAs told Basant that this is an internal matter of the Congress, so no one else needs to be involved.

Abdullah met Modi-Shah at midnight

Ghulam Nabi Azade Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Umar Abdullah have created a sensation by claiming that they had a midnight meeting with Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Azad indirectly indicated the alliance between the BJP and the National Conference and said, what is the meaning of Abdullah father-son seeking time to meet Modi-Shah at 12 o'clock in the night?

Azad claimed that Modi-Shah consulted both before removing Article 370. Both advised the leaders of Kashmir Valley to be put under house arrest.

From the sudden attack on the Azad National Conference leaders, it is clear that their relations with the BJP have soured. These strikes are considered as a sign that Azad is ready to return home to the Congress.

Veteran Congressman Malviya joined BJP

Mahendrajitisinh Malviya, who was elected as MLA for four terms in Rajasthan, joined the BJP and the Congress has suffered a big blow. Malviya has resigned from the post of MLA from Bagidaura seat. Sources say that the BJP has accepted the condition of giving the assembly ticket to his wife Resham Malviya instead of Malviya. BJP will field Malviya from Banswara seat in the Lok Sabha elections. Malviya has won four consecutive MLA elections since 2008 and also won Lok Sabha elections from Banswara seat in 1998. Malviya demanded the construction of Mangarh National Monument. BJP has also accepted this demand.

BJP sources claim that along with Malviya, two more Congress tribal MLAs Ramila Khadia and Arjun Bamania will also resign from the Congress and join the BJP. Both were to join the BJP along with Malviya, but their entry into the BJP has been delayed due to the need for clarification on some issues.

War in Karnataka as JDS fielded candidate

Even though the BJP-JDS can win only one seat in Karnataka, the elections to be held on February 27 are expected to be a mess as the second candidate is fielded. Karnataka has elections for four Rajya Sabha seats. Congress has 135 MLAs in the 224-member assembly. Apart from this, since two independents and Sarvodaya Karnataka Party's Darshan Puttanaiah are also in the support of the Congress, the equation is that the Congress will succeed in retaining three seats. In the event that five candidates stand, 45 votes are needed to win one candidate, so Congress has enough votes to win all three of its candidates. Congress has Ajay Maken, Syed Nasir Hussain and G.C. BJP has given ticket to Narayan Bandge while Chandrashekhar.

JDS took a surprising decision and fielded Upendra Reddy at the last minute. BJP has an additional 21 votes while JDS has 19 votes so Reddy's victory is unlikely but Congress alleges that Kumaraswamy is using money power.
