Delhi Talk: No uniform civil code to protect tribals

New Delhi: Narendra Modi raised the issue of Uniform Civil Code to attack the opposition, but the BJP leader admits that it is unlikely that the government will move in this direction. According to BJP leaders, the BJP will not offend the tribals as not only Muslims but also tribals are opposed to the Uniform Civil Code.

Assembly elections are due in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan later this year. Tribals have a large presence in these states so BJP will not risk upsetting them. BJP will not give Congress the issue of attracting tribals.

The Rashtriya Adivasi Ekta Parishad, which claims to represent 11 crore tribals, has also moved the Supreme Court on this issue. The Parishad has petitioned the Supreme Court seeking protection of its customs, raising the issue that its customs will be destroyed due to the Uniform Civil Code.

Malaviya Bherwaya posted an anti-Rahul video

After registering an FIR against BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya in Karnataka, the accusations between BJP and Congress have started. Bengaluru Police has filed a complaint against Malviya for tweeting against Rahul Gandhi. In the video posted by Malviya, it is claimed that Rahul Gandhi is calling to defeat Modi in 2024 to divide the country. Rahul has also been called a pawn of foreign powers. It has also been claimed that Rahul says that India is not a country but a group of different countries like the European Union.

BJP has termed the FIR as malicious. On the other hand, the Congress has challenged that the BJP should prove which part of the FIR is malicious.

According to legal experts, the video has a lot of content that could create trouble for Malviya. It is clear that Rahul's statements have been distorted in the video.

AAP in support of BJP on civil code issue

It is certain that the Aam Aadmi Party is now out of the united opposition front as the Aam Aadmi Party favors the Uniform Civil Code in the country. After Modi raised the issue of Uniform Civil Code, while the opposition parties including the Congress are arguing, Aam Aadmi Party's Organization General Secretary Sandeep Pathak has said that AAP supports the Uniform Civil Code in principle.

Pathak said that Article 44 of the Constitution favors Uniform Civil Code in the country but he believes that this issue should be discussed with all religions and political parties. It should be implemented only after the consent of everyone.

AAP is upset with the Congress' stand on the central government's ordinance making the lieutenant governor supreme in Delhi. Now Aam Aadmi Party has widened the gap with Congress by adopting a completely opposite attitude from Congress.

New issue of Congress, Corruption in drone deal

The Congress has hinted at raising the issue of the drone deal with the US against the government like the Rafale deal. The Congress has alleged that the government is buying Predator drones from the US at four times the price. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera alleged in a press conference that what happened in the Rafale deal with France is now being repeated in the purchase of Predator drones. India is paying 110 million dollars for the drone which other countries are buying for less than 3 million dollars.

The Indian government will buy 31 drones from America for Rs 25,000 crore. The drone deal was mentioned in the joint statement of Modi and President Biden.

Congress has also alleged that, in April 2023, the Indian Armed Forces told the Modi government that only 18 Predator drones are needed, but why is the Modi government buying 31 drones?

The central government is worried about the rising price of tomatoes

Modi government is worried due to rising tomato prices across the country. At present, the price of tomato in most of the states has gone up to Rs 100 per kg. In the past, the BJP government went down due to the increase in the price of onion, this time the government is worried about the increase in the price of tomato.

Assembly elections are going to be held in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan at the end of this year and if prices do not come down by then, it will become a big issue. The government has taken it easy by saying that this price hike is temporary and the prices will start coming down soon but there is no tomato in the market so the government is worried.

Tomatoes grow in two seasons in India. In Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, the rabi crop is harvested or marketed between March and August. At present, the same crop is not coming, so everything depends on the kharif crop in Uttar Pradesh after August.

Manipuri CM seeking help from women's groups

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and Security Adviser Kuldeep Singh on Tuesday held two separate meetings with representatives of Maira Paibi (a women's group) and the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity. The above two meetings are significant in view of the fact that women are taking the leadership of the opposition fronts being held at various places in the state. The army, which oversees law and order in Manipur, tweeted on Monday night that mobs led by women were deliberately creating roadblocks to disrupt security forces' operations. The army said women protesters were digging the entrances of the troops to delay the operation of the Assam Rifles.

Rajya Sabha Elections: First BJP member from West Bengal

The BJP will get its first seat from West Bengal, where biennial elections for 10 vacant Rajya Sabha seats are to be held next month. BJP won 77 seats in West Bengal assembly elections last year. Although some of these MLAs defected, others resigned, and now the number has reduced to 70. With this number, BJP will get one Rajya Sabha seat. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha floor leader Derek O'Brien's terms have also ended. However, both of them will be re-elected by their parties and brought back to the upper house.
