Talking about Delhi: Rahul will not say anything on the Savarkar issue now

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi's constant talking about the Savarkar issue has left allies in Maharashtra frustrated. To calm him down, the Congress had to give an assurance that Rahul would no longer speak on the Savarkar issue.

Rahul Gandhi's V. d. Uddhav Thackeray objected to the comment about Savarkar. Thackeray had said at a rally in Maharashtra that he considers Savarkar as an ideal and Rahul Gandhi should refrain from insulting him. Sharad Pawar has advised Rahul Gandhi to keep quiet on this issue so that this controversy does not escalate. Pawar raised this issue in a meeting of opposition leaders called by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. He warned that attacking Savarkar would break the opposition coalition in Maharashtra.

Sharad Pawar said that Savarkar was never a member of the RSS while the real battle of the opposition is against Narendra Modi and the BJP-Sangh and should focus on that.

Worried about the rising debt of major states of the country

Economists are expressing concern that the debt has exceeded the budget in many states of the country. According to him, due to deterioration of balance of debt and expenditure, these states will not have money for future development works. These states will have to incur another debt to repay the debt and thus get trapped in a vicious cycle of debt. Indebted states have to get money from other sources including taxation. Otherwise the condition of these states will become dire.

Supreme Court ruling on Dhankhad-Rijiju

The Supreme Court may take action against Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhard and Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju for their remarks against the Supreme Court collegium. The Bombay Lawyers Association applied to the High Court to take action against these two, but the High Court rejected the application and the association has reached the Supreme Court. According to the association, both the leaders have insulted the constitution and the judiciary by making comments against the collegium as the collegium is part of the Supreme Court. Collegium is an institution established by the Supreme Court under a constitutional provision. Jagdeep Dhankhad and Kiren Rijiju are not fit to hold their positions as they have insulted the constitution.

Sources believe that since this petition is about the rights of the Supreme Court, Dhankhad and Rijiju may be affected. It is clear that Dhankhad and Rijiju have tried to tarnish the image of the Supreme Court in public by criticizing the collegium in public.

Pension committee drama because of Fadnavis

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman asked Finance Secretary T.V. for reforms in NPS. The formation of the committee was announced under the chairmanship of Somnath. However, the committee could not make a recommendation for reconsideration of the pension issue, causing outrage among the employee unions. According to him, it has been proved that this is a committee play. The BJP leader also believes that this matter will have a negative impact on the upcoming assembly elections.

Sources claim that BJP's Devendra Fadnavis, who is the finance minister in the Eknath Shinde government, made the presentation after getting an indication that the BJP would have to fight against the odds due to the protests by the state government employees in Maharashtra. Following this, a committee has been constituted to give suggestions to overcome the shortcomings of NPS, but there is no clarity whether the government will accept the suggestions of this committee or not.

Due to this, the national employee unions have continued their protest with the demand of the old pension scheme.
