DG Yatra : Freedom from long lines of various checking at the airport

- Vande Bharat Train is a great alternative to air travel

- Occasional

- This system is optional for domestic passengers. The user has to download the application

The newly launched DG Yatra at the airport seems to be the easiest and most useful system in the world. This concept frees travelers from tedious lines at the airport. At the airport, travelers have to face checks following the Dagle. DG Yatra is a system built to assist travelers. Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated the system, which saves valuable time for travelers. DG Yatra is associated with facial recognition i.e. face scanning system. Face recognition devices will be found at every checking point at the airport, which will take only two-three seconds.

Air travelers have to reach the airport one hour before. Some are seen running here and there for checking. Both domestic and international travelers are in this situation. Alas, even people who are used to air travel often get bumped.

The concept of DG travel was announced in October 2018. Its practical experience was also done at Delhi and Bangalore. Its beta version was launched last August 15. Feedback from tourists was obtained.

After getting the right response, it was decided to implement it. The biggest advantage of this system is that paperless work will be seen. Contactless process will be seen at various checking points like terminal entrance, security check, boarding gate etc. at the airport. Due to this there will be no chance of exposure to any disease virus or bacteria. Talking about Delhi airport, what used to take 20 seconds for a passenger to enter the terminal will now be done in just five seconds.

This system is optional for domestic passengers. Currently those who want to use it have to download the application and upload Aadhaar card details, selfie along with boarding pass before that travel to get registered. Those who have DG card will not have to stand in queue. They will be able to use the Alayda Special Gate. There he will be able to enter the terminal by scanning the barcode of the boarding card and performing facial recognition. A similar contactless process can be done at the security check and boarding gate as well. Here, however, passenger data security may be a concern. The government says that it has no central storage and that data will be deleted within 24 hours. The government does not plan to store any data as travelers' smartphones contain travel data.

It will be launched at seven airports in the first phase. It will be started in a phased manner at each airport after checking the difficulties etc. DG Yatra Foundation (DYF) has been set up. It will act as a nodal agency. There will be no ministry behind its implementation. It will be a non-profit organization and its main task will be to strengthen the eco system of DG Yatra.

The new trains launched by the Ministry of Railways, Vande Bharat etc. are being used as an alternative to air travel. There is no need to go to the airport an hour before, no need to go through any checking point or any process like boarding pass. People use trains like Vande Bharat or Shatabdi for Mumbai. Tourists do not like to be stopped. Trains like Vande Bharat are being appreciated as air travelers are constantly stuck. There was a need for a traveler friendly checking system at the airport, which DG Yatra could cater to.
