BJP refrained from taking risks and repeated to the MPs

New Delhi: BJP has released the first list of 195 candidates, in which old MPs have been repeated. It is clear from this that BJP does not want to take any risk. BJP was supposed to give chance to new faces in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, but in these states too, BJP avoided experimenting and gave more than 70 percent tickets to old MPs. In Uttar Pradesh, 90 percent MPs have been repeated. The first list of 51 candidates from Uttar Pradesh has only 4 new faces while the remaining 47 are old faces.

Sources in the BJP say that the BJP does not want to take any risks as there is an alliance between the Congress and the Samajwadi Party in UP and Madhya Pradesh. In these two states, Muslim voters will unite and OBC voters may also shift towards SP-Congress, so BJP has to rely on old leaders.

Excluding Verma-Pragya, no place for fundamentalism

BJP has given a clear indication that it is away from fundamentalist Hindutva by cutting the cards of Pravesh Verma and Sadhvi Pragya Thakur in the first list of 195 candidates. Kamaljit Sehrawat has been given the ticket by dropping West Delhi MP Verma while in Bhopal Alok Sharma has been given the ticket by cutting off Pragya. It is indicative that Alok has been given Lok Sabha ticket despite losing the assembly elections twice.

Pravesh Verma came into the limelight due to his extremely aggressive Hindu attitude during the Delhi riots. Pragya creates controversies continuously. Controversies including calling Mahatma Gandhi's killer Godse a hero are in Pragya's name.

BJP sources say that Modi is conscious about India's image globally. Verma and Pragya have been shown a way out of making anti-Muslim statements because the bad news of anti-Muslim atmosphere in India does not work.

Abhishek's special announcement will leave all posts

Veteran Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh has created a stir by alleging that some old Trinamool leaders are in connivance with the BJP.

Ghosh, who stressed on giving more importance to the youth in the Trinamool Congress, also expressed his desire to resign from all posts in the party. Ghosh is currently the general secretary and spokesperson in the Bengal region unit.

Ghosh is considered extremely close to Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee. There is constant conflict between Banerjee and the old jogis of the party.

The old Jogis cannot say anything to Abhishek Banerjee, so they target his supporters including Ghosh.

There is also talk of Ghosh leaving the Trinamool Congress and joining the BJP. Ghosh has termed these things as rumours, saying that he is going to stay in Trinamool and is not going anywhere but does not want positions.

Lalu's advice to Rahul, distribute seats soon

Lalu Prasad Yadav has indirectly expressed his displeasure against Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra and said that. Now is not the time to hang around but it is the time to fight with full strength by dividing the seats between the anti-BJP Front India parties.

Lalu said that the movement should be stopped and seats should be distributed.

Lalu is an ally in the RJD India alliance. In Bihar, RJD, Congress and Left parties will contest the elections together but no decision has been taken on seat distribution yet, so Lalu is upset. The issue of seat sharing in Bihar is stuck as Congressmen are busy due to Rahul Gandhi's travel. Even the Congress leader admits that the India alliance has a tough uphill climb after Nitish Kumar's JDU and BJP merged in Bihar, so the high command needs to announce candidates early.

Dakho for two seats between DMK-Congress

In Tamil Nadu, the issue of seat sharing between Congress and DMK is confusing. The Congress insists on distribution of 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu as per the 2019 formula, while DMK's Stalin is demanding two more seats for himself. In 2019, Congress contested on 9 seats while DMK contested on 20 seats. The remaining 10 seats were allotted to smaller parties.

The front under the leadership of DMK won 38 out of 39 seats. The only seat the front lost was Thei where the Congress candidate lost. This time, DMK wants its candidate to contest from Theni seat instead of Congress. Due to the ongoing tension on this issue, the meeting between Congress and DMK did not even take place. Stalin is also said to have given the Congress an ultimatum to accept seven seats.

Who against Smriti Irani in Amethi?

BJP has again given ticket to sitting MP Smriti Irani as its candidate from Amethi. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Irani defeated the then incumbent Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. However, the picture is still not clear about which Congress candidate will face Irani this time.

When Rahul Gandhi was in Amethi a few days ago as part of his Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, Congress General Minister Jairam Ramesh said that the people of Amethi want Rahul Gandhi to return as their representative. Jairam Ramesh pointed out that the party might 'repeat' Rahul Gandhi on this seat, in response to which Smriti has said that it is my challenge to Rahul Gandhi to contest the next Lok Sabha elections from Amethi alone.

Timely action against Himachal rebels

Reacting to the cross-voting by six Congress MLAs in the recently held Rajya Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh, senior party leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh told reporters in Morena that action would be taken against rebel MLAs of the party at the appropriate time.

Regarding the selection of party candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Singh added that our Central Election Committee (CEC) will decide on the issue. As Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra is entering Madhya Pradesh through Morena district, Singh has reached Morena to review the preparations for it.

"Mahua attempts to sell Parliament log-in"

Former West Bengal Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, who lost his Lok Sabha seat for taking money from related parties (businessman Darshan Hiranandani) for asking questions in Parliament, is now trying to cash in by selling our Parliament's log-in credentials, West Bengal Opposition Leader Suvendu Adhikari alleged. is The Nadia district in West Bengal where the official spoke is included in the Krishnanagar Lok Sabha constituency, which was once represented by Moitra. Hiranandani used the log-in credentials to post questions against Gautam Adani and his Adani group.
