Paving legal avenues for Pakistani artists, not realistically

- There is a section in India that favors art and culture ties with Pakistan but the majority of Indians feel that terrorism and art and culture cannot go hand in hand. There should be no place for Pakistani artists in India when Pakistan nurtures terrorism in India, sheds the blood of innocent people. If Pakistan wants to have normal relations with India, it should maintain good relations on all fronts. Pakistan shows hostility towards India by nurturing terrorism and on the other hand Pakistani artists earn crores by working in India.

The issue of whether or not there should be a complete ban on Pakistani artists in India has been debated for a long time. An application was also filed in the Supreme Court on this issue. The Supreme Court rejected this petition and refused to impose a complete ban on Pakistani artists from working in India. The Supreme Court has also advised petitioner Faiz Anwar Qureshi not to be 'extremely narrow-minded'.

Faiz Anwar Qureshi claims that he is a cine worker and artist working in Bollywood. Qureshi petitioned the Bombay High Court demanding that the central government order a complete ban on Pakistani film actors, singers, musicians, lyricists and technicians from working in India. Any company, firm or association in India, Indian nationals should be strictly prohibited from employing, giving work, performing, taking any kind of service or any kind of collaboration with Pakistani artists.

As the Bombay High Court rejected this application, Qureshi went to the Supreme Court, but the Supreme Court also rejected this application. The Bombay High Court also made some harsh remarks against Qureshi. The High Court said that Qureshi's demand for ban has no standard or concrete criteria. Such a ban will destroy cultural harmony, unity and peace. Activities like music, art, sports, dance across borders of any country. Cultures or nationalities do not move. All these activities create an environment of peace, harmony and reconciliation in the country and between the two countries.

The High Court also said that to be a patriot, it is not necessary to be against foreign countries, especially neighboring countries. A true patriot is said to be one who is selfless, devoted to his country and for that it is necessary to be a good man. He who has a large and good heart should welcome any activity that promotes peace, harmony and reconciliation in his own country and across the country's borders.

Qureshi Sahib was so offended by the High Court's comments on patriotism that he requested the Supreme Court to quash these comments. The Supreme Court has also rejected this request. The Supreme Court justified these comments and advised Qureshi Sahib to stop making such pleas and work to move the country forward.

The job of the Supreme Court is to interpret the provisions of the Constitution of the country and give judgment so the judgment of the Supreme Court is final. Due to this, it can be said that legally the doors have been opened for Pakistani actors to work in Indian films or perform in India, but in reality it will not be possible.

Legally, even though Pakistani artists have been allowed to work in India, no one is enforcing it. This is because most Indians are against allowing Pakistani artists to work in India. Organizations associated with film and art are also against it and the issue has become political.

There is a section in India that favors art and culture ties with Pakistan, but the majority of Indians feel that terrorism and art and culture cannot go hand in hand. The feeling that Pakistani actors like Atif Aslam, Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan etc. who are troubling India and earning money from India is not possible.

Realizing this feeling of Indians, after the Uri attack in 2016, organizations including the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPA), The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), All India Cine Workers Association (AIQUA) completely banned Pakistani actors from working in Indian films. . Since most of the filmmakers, actors, technicians etc. are associated with these organizations, Pakistani artists have been banned from working in India for the past seven years. Music companies have also decided not to work with Pakistani artistes.

This issue is also politically hot. In Maharashtra, Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is against Pakistani actors. MNS has already warned that this will happen to producers who hire Pakistani actors. MNS has also given this warning to music companies. Because of this, Pakistani actors are not willing to take any risks by working with them. In these circumstances, even after the Supreme Court's verdict, Pakistani artists are to remain untouchable for Indians.

Supreme Court's words are theoretically correct, art, culture etc. work to bring people closer together. India and Pakistan have the same culture, both have the same heritage of music, literature, art, language is also the same so people connect with each other quickly because of music, art, literature etc. but Pakistan is not interested in that. Pakistan is not interested in uniting the people of both countries but in breaking up India. India is capable of defending itself so it doesn't matter what Pakistan does but at the same time the relationship is not strengthened.

Pakistani actors can become Indian citizens like Adnan Sami

Many Indian actors have worked in Pakistani TV serials and films. In the past, Vinod Khanna, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Kiran Kher, Keem Sharma, Preeti Jangiani, Arbaaz Khan, Amrita Arora, Rishita Bhatt, Johnny Lever, Neha Dhupia, Govind Namdev, Gulshan Grover etc. have worked in Pakistani films.

Although there has been a complete ban on Indian artists in Pakistan for a long time, there is no possibility that this ban will be lifted in the near future, so it is not to be hoped that Indian artists will work or perform in Pakistan.

Entertainment field is much bigger in India than in Pakistan. It is beneficial for Pakistani artists to work in India as there are more opportunities and more money in India. In the current circumstances, it is not possible to take advantage of being a Pakistani, so Pakistani artists have to follow the path of Adnan Sami. Adnan Sami feels that his art will be appreciated in India, so he has taken Indian citizenship and lives in India. Other Pakistani artists can also follow this path.

Indian actors-films banned in Pakistan

Indian artists have been banned in Pakistan for years. On the other hand, India has been welcoming Pakistani artists even after the war with Pakistan. In the 1970s and 1980s, Pakistan's ghazal singers such as Mehndi Hasan, Ghulam Ali, and qawwalas such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Sabri Brothers were warmly welcomed and adopted by India. After 1990, this proportion increased and the doors of India were opened for Pakistani artists, singers, musicians. A number of Pakistanis have made a name for themselves in India.

Pakistan has never given such respect or platform to Indian artists. Indian artists earn crores in India, so they have no interest in the earnings of a hundred and twelve countries like Pakistan, but Indian artists are ready to perform in Pakistan so that the people of both countries come closer to each other due to music and art. Pakistan never welcomes them. Indian films are also banned in Pakistan.

In view of all this, Pakistani artists cannot be favored to be welcomed in India. Clap not with one hand, but with two hands.
