Delhi talk: Yogi unhappy with Amarmani's decision to leave
New Delhi: The release of gangster-turned-politician Amarmani Tripathi and his wife, convicted in a murder case in Uttar Pradesh, is all set. Amarmani Tripathi, who was convicted in the murder case of Madhumita Shukla, who created havoc in Uttar Pradesh politics 20 years ago, will soon be released from jail along with his wife. Poet Madhumita was Tripathi's lover.
UP Governor Anandiben Patel has commuted the death sentence on grounds of good behavior but Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is said to be unhappy with the decision. The BJP is ditching Tripathi for the Brahmin votes in the Purvanchal region in the Lok Sabha elections, but this angers the Thakurs as Tripathi is considered an anti-Thakur gangster. Tripathi dominates Yogi's hometown of Gorakhpur and surrounding areas. Yogi is also upset because of this but there is nothing he can do against the High Command's decision.
Pawar's displeasure with the attitude of the feet in both milk and curd
Sharad Pawar's statement about Ajit Pawar has caused great resentment in Congress and Shiv Sena. Pawar said that there is no difference in NCP and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar will remain the leader of NCP. Some leaders have left the party taking different political stances but it cannot be called a rupture. After Sharad Pawar, his daughter Supriya Sule also reiterated the same thing.
Congress and Shiv Sena leaders believe that Sharad Pawar is keeping his foot in both milk and curd. On the one hand, Ajith, who is the Deputy Chief Minister in the BJP government, is being considered as the leader of the party and on the other hand, he is pretending to be in the Congress-led India Front. According to him, Pawar should make it clear who he is really with. Ajith should be left if India wants to stay in front.
Nath-Baghel demand to suspend Iyer
Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar, former Prime Minister P.V. Calling Narasimha Rao a communalist has caused deep reactions in the Congress. Leaders like Kamal Nath and Bhupesh Baghel are said to have demanded action against Aiyar for this statement. He claims that Hindus in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will be offended by such statements and will move away from the Congress.
On the occasion of the launch of Iyer's autobiography 'Memoirs of a Maverick - The First Fifty Years (1941-1991)', Iyer said that Narasimha Rao was performing puja when the Babri Masjid was being demolished. Given that Rao called India Hindu Rashtra, the first Prime Minister of BJP was not Atal Vihari Vajpayee but Rao.
Iyer said this in the presence of Sonia Gandhi. According to Congress leaders, the bad message of Sonia's tacit consent in tarnishing Rao's image has also gone out.
Supreme Court's tough stance on hate speech
The Supreme Court has taken a strong stance on hate speech and has asked for an answer on whether or not nodal officers have been appointed in every district of the country to prevent hate speech. The court has asked the central government to collect the details of the appointment of nodal officers from the states and submit a report within three weeks.
The Supreme Court has also said that the guidelines issued in 2018 must be followed to prevent hate speech. The Supreme Court issued guidelines on July 7, 2018 to ban hate speech, asking states and union territories to depute nodal officers in districts to monitor such activities.
According to analysts, the Supreme Court's stance is right but the Supreme Court's hands are tied. The government does not seem to want to stop hate speech so whatever the Supreme Court says will not make much difference.
Mamata-Bose allegation on student's death
Mamata Sarkar and Governor C.V. Anand is frozen between bows. Mamata government minister Bratya Bose has held Bose responsible for the student's suicide, while Bose has held the state government responsible. So far 12 people have been arrested in this case.
Swapndeep Kundu committed suicide by jumping from the balcony. According to Mamata's minister, Kundu committed suicide under the torture of ABVP's Hindu elements who had infiltrated with Bose's blessings. On the other hand, BJP has alleged that Kundu committed suicide due to ragging and sexual harassment by Trinamool Congress and Left student leaders. The Governor has supported this and quipped that now advanced technology will have to be taken from ISRO to stop ragging in the campus.

37 non-budget bills referred to House committees
Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdeep Dhankar sent three more bills to the Standing Committee on Home Affairs for review on August 18. A total of 37 non-budget bills have been sent to various committees of the House in the second term of the Narendra Modi government. According to this information obtained from PRS Legislative Research, in the current 17th Lok Sabha, a total of 210 bills have been tabled in the Parliament so far. This figure clearly shows that cross-party deliberations on bills are on the decline. Out of the bills presented in the House in the 16th Lok Sabha, 25 percent of the bills were sent to the committees, while in the 15th Lok Sabha 71 percent, while in the 14th Lok Sabha 60 percent of the bills were sent to the House committees, according to the PRS list 'Overview of the 16th Lok Sabha'.
New bills to be known by Hindi name only: Govt
The central government is determined to retain the Hindi names of the three new laws replacing the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC) and the Evidence Act. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, in response to the protest raised by some opposition MPs of DMK and Congress over the Hindi titles, said that since the bills and their official description are written in English as per Article-348, the Hindi titles do not violate any constitutional provision.
