Nitish's governance: Changed the law to free the gangster-leader

- Khunkhar mafia-turned-politician Anand Mohan Singh to IAS officer G. Krishnaiah has been in jail since he was sentenced to death in 2007 for his murder. District Magistrate Krishnaiah of Gopalganj was murdered in 1994. The High Court later commuted Anand Mohan's death sentence to life imprisonment. In Bihar, there was a rule of not pardoning a public servant who killed him while on duty. Nitish Kumar government has changed this rule of Bihar Prison Manual to release Anand.

Bihar's Nitish Kumar government's decision to release gangster-turned-politician Anand Mohan Singh from jail has sparked uproar. Anand Mohan, who was first elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly and then to the Lok Sabha, IAS officer G. He was in jail since his execution in 2007 for Krishnaiah's murder. District Magistrate Krishnaiah of Gopalganj was murdered in 1994. The High Court later commuted Anand Mohan's death sentence to life imprisonment. The Supreme Court gave its stamp of approval on this verdict. It was the first time in India that a leader was hanged for murder.

Six politicians, including Anand Mohan's wife Lovely, were found guilty in the Krishnaiah murder case but all others were acquitted in the High Court while Anand Mohan was sentenced. Even though Anand Mohan grabbed the legs of Lalu Prasad Yadav to escape, he was not freed. Seeing the crime of Anand Mohan, no one expected him to come out of jail, but the Nitish Kumar government turned a magic wand and got Anand Mohan out of jail. Of course even now Anand's release is possible only because of the kindness of Lalu's family. It is only because of Lalu's son and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav that Anand has come out of jail.

In Bihar, there was a rule of not pardoning a public servant who killed him while on duty. To release Anand Mohan Singh, the Nitish Kumar government changed this rule in the Bihar Prison Manual. Due to this, a total of 27 convicts of serious crimes including Anand will be released from jail, but since Anand Mohan Singh is a politician, there is a lot of fuss about his release.

The BJP has opposed this decision, but Mayawati has also fallen out with the Nitish Kumar government. This is because Krishnaiah came from a Dalit community. Mayawati claims that the Nitish government has committed an anti-Dalit act by releasing Anand Mohan, who killed Krishnaiah, who hails from a very poor Dalit family in Andhra Pradesh, and Dalits across the country are outraged by this decision.

Nitish's decision is aimed at killing two birds with one stone. On the one hand, Nitish has made the ally party Rashtriya Janata Dal happy, on the other hand, he has also played a bet for the Rajputs to turn to the JDU in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Anand Mohan and his wife Lovely Anand are RJD members while their son Chetan is an RJD MLA. RJD is a partner in Nitish's government so there must be pressure from him. Nitish has also satisfied RJD by accepting his words.

Nitish and Anand Mohan have had a love-hate relationship. Anand Mohan was an opponent of Lalu Prasad earlier. Because of this, Lalu's government threw him in jail. In 1996, Nitish Kumar gave Samata Party ticket to Anand from Shivhar. Anand Mohan contested the election while in jail and won.

Anand's wife Lovely made serious allegations against the same Nitish. During the Bihar Assembly elections in 2020, Lovely alleged that Nitish had hatched a conspiracy and imprisoned my husband in a false case to end his political career. The same Lovely is now taking Nitish's excuses and calling his decision in public interest. Politics is the name of this.

Anand Mohan Tomar is a Rajput and the Kshatriya community of Bihar has been demanding Anand's release for the past two years. Nitish accepted their demand so Rajputs could vote for JDU. Anand Mohan Singh is considered to be one of the most notorious gangsters in Bihar politics. Despite being in jail for the last decade and a half, he is greatly admired in Saharsa and Muzaffarpur districts. In Muzaffarpur district MLA Munna Shukla is in fear. Munna has grown up thanks to Anand Mohan, so Nitish reckons that the Anand-Munna duo will benefit the JDU-RJD in Saharsa and Muzaffarpur in the Lok Sabha elections.

This decision of Nitish is proof that crows are black everywhere. The opposition, including the JDU, has protested against the BJP government's decision to release the convicted rapists and murderers in the Bilkis Bano case in Gujarat. BJP took this decision for political gain. Now Nitish himself is doing the same by abandoning Anand Mohan Singh, who was found guilty of killing an IAS officer.

Politics has been severely criminalized in Bihar. There are many criminals in every party, but no one can be considered a criminal until the court convicts them. Even though the court has convicted Anand, Nitish has released him.

There will be a fierce fight in the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar as the challenge for the BJP is to maintain its supremacy while for the JDU-RJD it is a question of survival. Anand Mohan's release is considered the first chapter considering that money power is less and muscle power is more in Bihar elections. Many other mafias who could defeat or help JDU-RJD will gradually come out of jail.

Anand's wife was the lovely Lady Mafia, an MP-legislator

In the absence of Anand Mohan Singh, his wife Lovely Anand has taken over his empire. Now his son Chetan Anand Singh is also ready. Chetan and Lovely Anand are currently in RJD. Chetan is an MLA from Shivhar assembly seat in Bihar.

Lovely became an MP in 1994 by winning the Vaishali Lok Sabha seat by-election. Lovely created a sensation by defeating former Bihar Chief Minister Satyendra Narayan Sinha's wife Kishori Sinha. Won from Nabinagar assembly seat in Lovely and also from Barah assembly seat in 2005. Lovely has been continuously contesting Assembly and Lok Sabha elections since then but has not won again.

However, due to this, the influence of Lovely in Saharsa district has not decreased.

Anand Mohan Singh and his special friend Kaushalendra Shukla alias Chotan Shukla had the power and influence in Muzaffarpur. After Chotan Shukla's murder, his brother Munna Shukla became the leader of the gang. Munna Shukla is also an MLA now. Munna Shukla is friends with Anand. Lovely's name coins fall in Saharsa due to Munna's muscle power.

Like Anand, Lovely herself is not directly involved in crime so there is no other case against her.

Lovely has built an empire of extortion and contracting through muscle power.

The mob, provoked by the killing of gangster Chhotan, killed the officer

In 1994, IAS officer G. Krishnaiah was killed in a gang war in Muzaffarpur. In Muzaffarpur at that time there was a war going on between Kaushalendra Shukla alias Chhotan Shukla's upper caste gang and Omkar Singh's backward caste gang. Chotan was headed by Anand Mohan Singh while Omkar Singh was headed by Brijbihari Prasad, a minister in the then Lalu Prasad government.

Omkar's men killed Chotan on December 4, 1994. Thousands of people gathered in Chotan's funeral procession in Muzaffarpur. Anand-Lovely addressed the crowd and claimed that Muzaffarpur Collector and Police Chief Lalu is not doing anything at the behest of the government. Due to this, the crowd was in a frenzy and started vandalism.

Gopalganj Collector Krishnaiah was returning to Gopalganj after arranging a meeting from Hajipur. The mob surrounded him mistaking him for the Collector of Muzaffarpur. Krishnaiah came out of the car for rescue and clarified that he was not the collector of Muzaffarpur but the agitated crowd started pelting stones without listening. In this stone pelting, when the bloodied Krishnaiah was running towards him, Chotan's brother Bhutakal shot him three times in the head and killed him. Krishnaiah's murder is said to have been a case of mistaken identity. There is a theory that Krishnaiah, being a Dalit, used to hunt down backward caste gangsters and kill upper caste gang members, so Anand's gang got rid of them.
